Having had massive prices for Nd element last year (going from 100RMB/kg in early 2009 through to around 350RMB/kg early 2011 then rapidly rising to 1800RMB/kg in July 2011), the prices have been starting to fall since August 2011 and have fallen below to 1000RMB/kg price at the start of January 2012. The outlook appears to indicate a continued reduction but what will happen is never certain. A return to 2009 prices is highly unlikely. The outlook for Sm pricing is uncertain with limited confidence in the prices falling much further.
