An Introduction to Internal Threaded Stud

Pot Magnets offer an increase in clamping force onto ferromagnetic materials because the magnets are inside a ferromagnetic casing (Ni or Zinc plated mild steel) which gives an improved magnetic circuit. This allows high clamping forces to be achieved with minimal size.

The Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Stud / Boss Mounting has a boss / stud as part of the steel backing within which is a female threaded section. A M4 or M10 screw or bolt can be used to hold the Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Stud / Boss Mounting in place. This group of Pot Magnets contains the Pot Magnets previously named Low Cost Pot Magnets with Threaded Boss Mounting.

The Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Stud / Boss Mounting exists with Ferrite and NdFeB magnets within the Pot assembly. The NdFeB versions can be used up to +80 deg C and are suitable for frozen applications. The ferrite versions can be used up to +180 degrees C but may start to show some signs of weakening (demagnetisation) when used in sub-zero conditions e.g. -10 to -20 deg C. The design and application determines the actual optimal operating temperature range.

Some versions of the Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Stud / Boss Mounting have a white painted casing. This makes them an ideal choice for Point of Sale magnets, Window Dressing magnets, Ceiling magnets and Door magnets, etc.

The Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Stud / Boss Mounting range offers maximum clamping forces from 4kg up to 130kg with sizes ranging from 25mm to 125mm diameters.

The Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Stud / Boss Mounting is dimensioned by giving the main Pot Magnet dimensions then giving the size of the threaded hole and finally the overall height of the Pot Magnet.
