The Surface Protecting Slide Resist Clamp Magnet (SPSR Clamp Magnet) is a magnetic clamping assembly with a soft polyurethane coating. The SPSR Clamp Magnet is designed for applications where high shear strength is required with no scratching of the surfaces. The soft polyurethane coating gives a high surface friction allowing a secure magnetic clamp with minimised sliding and no abrasion. It is designed to protect surfaces and to resist sliding on them as well.
Whereas standard magnets require 20% (one fifth) of the direct pull force to start to slide along the surface (rubber coated magnets and the more powerful pot magnets can require over 20%), the Surface Protecting Slide Resist Clamp Magnet requires 200% of the direct pull force to start to slide along the surface (i.e. twice the pull force).
The Surface Protecting Slide Resist Clamp Magnet (SPSR Clamp Magnet) resists sliding along a surface so much better (up to 10 times better) because of its polyurethane surface. The SPSR Clamp Magnet can provide immense resistance to shear forces when mounted on a smooth metal surface, even on vertical surfaces. The anti-slip / anti-skid properties of the SPSR Clamp Magnet is a highly desirable feature when using magnets on vertical surfaces. The polyurethane coating on the base of the SPSR Clamp Magnet is also relatively soft and therefore should cause no abrasion (assuming all surfaces are clean), minimising the scratching of the surface to which it is placed. The SPSR clamp magnet is ideal for protecting paintwork, protecting plastic coatings, and protecting other surfaces; if an anti-scratch magnet is a requirement the SPSR clamp magnet is worth loooking at (as well as the rubber coated pot magnets).
The polyurethane coating of the SPSR Clamp Magnet introduces a reduced peel strength of the magnet, making it easier to remove from the metal surface when used for either interior or exterior applications.
The Surface Protecting Slide Resist Clamp Magnet (SPSR Clamp Magnet) has zinc coated backing plates (for corrosion resistance). There are two versions of the backing plate:- one with 4mm diameter screw holes; the other with M5 or M6 stud mountings.
The SPSR Clamp Magnet is ideal for lighting assemblies. It can be used to hold lights and lighting housings (brackets, frames, etc) securely to mild steel walls, girders, beams, etc with no damage to paintwork and no slippage on vertical surfaces, making it a superb choice for temporary and permanent lighting fixings. It is popular for use on construction sites where lighting needs to be quickly put up, taken down and moved along without any damage to the metalwork. It clamps securely to mild steel walls and girders with no damage to paintwork and no slippage on vertical surfaces. The backing plate fixing options allow easy incorporation into existing lighting systems.
Typical uses include lighting systems, magnetic brackets, car roof signs (e.g. taxi signs), antenna clamp systems, vehicle tracking units, temporary signage, attaching to boards and pictures to metal partitions, door clamps, etc.
