The Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting contains a ferrite or NdFeB ring magnet within a steel casing. The steel casing is plated to give high corrosion resistance. The steel casing has a hole in it to allow the Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting to be easily fixed into position with a cap screw or a bolt into the boss. The design is extremely robust.

The magnet within the Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting is a ring magnet. The space within the inner diameter of the ring magnet is the space for the screw of bolt head to fit within. We call this space a 'clearance hole in ring magnet for screw/bolt head' and show the size of this space as a diameter by length (the inner diameter and the height of the ring magnet). This allows designers to check whether their fixing bolt or screw will fit within the space (standard screws and bolts should all fit perfectly within the space available).

An advantage of this design is that the fixing is done by clamping onto the steelwork rather than the magnet, allowing higher then normal tightening to be possible to ensure maximum secureness of fitting (such high clamping forces directly on magnets could break the magnets).

The Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting has a good depth of field which enables the larger magnets to be used as a retrieval magnet. The Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting is ideal for use in heavy duty or industrial fixing applications.

The Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting also exists in a rubber coating version to provide additional friction to minimise sliding along a surface.

Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting is available in sizes from 25mm to 100mm diameter with pull forces ranging from 8kg up to 68kg. The holes could take M5, M6, M8 and M10 threads. The inner diameter of the ring magnet is much larger than the hole in the steel casing allowing the head of the bolt or screw to easily fit in place.

The Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting has a maximum operating temperature of +180 deg C with ferrite and +80 deg C with NdFeB.

We can produce other Pot Magnets with Through Hole Mounting to customer specifications subject to a possible minimum order quantity – please contact us for a copy of our extended range of Pot Magnets, containing versions that we can produce as standard (subject to minimum order quantities).
